this feels like a lot of nothing. the song just doesnt really go anywhere. if there was some structure to it, the elemets would feel a lot more complete.

Thanks for the feedback! That's actually one of the things I didn't like about it as I was writing it. It sort of just alternates between the two sections, there's just new layers each time. I ended up liking it because I thought it was funny that the sample talks how the river is, "always there, at all times," and "always the same, but new in every moment". And as the song progresses, the same melodies and bass lines are, always there, at all times, and always the same, but as small new things get added, new in "every moment".

I understand that's kind of a reach, but art's subjective.
